This year the Holtzman Companies' cookbook is dedicated to the returning 3RD Infantry Division Mechanized Soldiers and their Families for a job well done in the Global War on Terrorism.
The dedication page in part reads "...When the division fully returns in 2008 and unfurls its colors on United States soil, it will be for an unprecedented third time in four years. Five years ago the first deployment of the Marne Division led the initial attack into Baghdad and is now leading stability efforts for the Iraqi people with Operation Piledriver. Gen. Rick Lynch says, "I tell my soldiers they have a choice in life -they can read history or make history, and dog face soldiers are making history every day." We proudly dedicate this book to the Rock of the Marne! Humbly we also dedicated this book to those brave souls whose names are forever embedded in granite at the Warriors Walk Memorial across Cottrell Field parade grounds. We honor all who have served...but a special debt of gratitude to the many members of the Third Infantry Division who gave the ultimate sacrifice. They represent all that is noble and courageous in the men and women of Fort Stewart's 3rd Infantry Division Mechanized.
